Wheat State Whirlwind Mini Tour Signup
The Professional Development Committee of Unclassified Senate invites unclassified
staff to join us for the Wheat State Whirlwind Mini Tour on Monday, April 13, 2009. This year's theme is "Sustainability in Kansas." After driving through the Konza Prairie we will tour the Land Institute to learn more about sustainable agricultural practices that are happening in Kansas, stop at the famous Cozy Inn in Salina for a sack of hamburgers, and then on to the Smoky Hills Wind Farm to learn more about wind energy in Kansas. Space is limited, so sign up soon.
Note: All spots on the bus are filled, but we are still accepting applications for a waiting list. Should any of the participants not be able to attend, names will be taken from the waiting list in the order they were received.
The trip will depart at 7:45 a.m. from the Lied Center parking lot and will return to Lawrence by 5:00 p.m. Casual attire and walking shoes are recommended. Participants can buy lunch for $7 at the Cozy Inn or bring a sack lunch. Vegetarians will need to bring a sack lunch.
Applications will be on a first come, first serve basis. See the full itinerary.
